Koll’s Consulting empowers businesses to unlock their full potential and achieve powerful solutions through design for compliance. We bring a wealth of expertise and dedication to understanding and meeting the unique needs of each client.

With over 15 years experience working at Nationally Recognized Test Labs (NRTL’s), Koll’s Consulting has observed hundreds of products fail to meet requirements, and had no ability to offer solutions as NRTL’s must remain non-biased to all clients and do not offer solutions to problems, they only identify and report what the failures are.

As Subject Matter Experts for Interoperability, it was extremely difficult to watch clients struggle and become overwhelmed with finding solutions to issues that we had seen previously and knew it was an easy fix, but we could not offer assistance and help them out.

Koll’s Consulting was formed with the concept of being able to help companies design their products to be interoperable with the Utility and other products, to meet the requirements defined by the Standards for Safety & Compliance that are applicable to each unique product.

Our mission is to help resolve the industry issues of Interoperability by helping all parties involved find solutions that make sense. From helping test tool developer’s interpret the requirements with the same understanding as the teams that are creating them, to helping OEM’s identify common mistakes and misunderstandings, offering pre-testing of systems to give a high confidence level that the products are ready to go to the NRTL for testing, to working with all NRTL’s to ensure testing is being performed in an identical fashion at every single lab so regardless of what test tool or NRTL is used everything operates to the same expectations. If we can accomplish this mission alongside other companies who share this same mindset, we will eventually reach the inevitable point that when a compliance mark is issued, there is a 100% confidence level that the product will communicate and interoperate as intended.

It is our goal that by having OEM’s and NRTL’s all understanding the requirements with the same interpretation and test methods, the Utilities will then be able to connect Distributed Energy Resources (DER’s), Inverter Based Resources (IBR’s), Electric Vehicles (EV), Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), Power Plant(s), Microgrids and so much more together in an efficient and Cyber secure environment to improve the stability and sustainability of our grid.
